Editorial Policy

Our Editorial Mission

At Missouri Veterans History Project (MVHP), our editorial mission is rooted in service, truth, and accessibility. While our original focus was on documenting the personal stories of U.S. Veterans, our platform has now evolved into a news and media portal supporting retirees, caregivers, disabled individuals, and low-income households in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

We are committed to delivering accurate, timely, and clearly written updates on government programs such as Social Security, SNAP, IRS payments, DWP, PIP, and WASPI. Our goal is to help people understand and access the support they are entitled to—without confusion or misinformation.

Editorial Independence

MVHP is an independent news platform. We are not affiliated with any government agency, political organization, or corporate interest. All editorial decisions are made solely by our internal team, without influence from outside parties.

We do not accept payment, advertising, or sponsorships that compromise our content’s accuracy, objectivity, or usefulness to our readers.

Content Creation Process

Our editorial content goes through a multi-step process to ensure quality and reliability:

  1. Research – Writers source information from verified public records, official government websites, press releases, and policy documents.
  2. Fact-Checking – Every key detail—dates, figures, eligibility criteria, program names—is cross-verified.
  3. Editing – Our editors review content for clarity, accessibility, and tone, ensuring that it can be easily understood by readers from all backgrounds.
  4. Review and Publication – Only after meeting our editorial standards is content approved for publication.

We aim to break down complex policy language into reader-friendly articles that empower our audience to make informed decisions.

Accuracy and Updates

Our editorial team actively monitors changes to U.S. and U.K. government programs. Articles are reviewed and updated regularly to ensure they reflect the most current and accurate information.

When updates are made, we indicate major changes clearly to maintain editorial transparency.

Corrections Policy

Despite our best efforts, errors may occasionally occur. If a factual mistake is identified, we will promptly review and correct it. We also encourage readers to bring any inaccuracies to our attention via the Contact page.

Transparency and Disclosure

We clearly distinguish informational content from opinion-based writing, and we currently do not publish sponsored content. If we ever include paid or promotional content, it will be clearly disclosed to our readers.

Commitment to Our Readers

Above all, MVHP is committed to serving the public with information that matters. Whether helping a Veteran access their benefits or guiding a pensioner through changing policies, we believe in providing content that is reliable, compassionate, and empowering.

Policy Review
